Data Security

A plain-language overview of the safeguards BESTWORKLOG.COM uses for accounts, cloud records, backups, and multi-device use.

Security at BESTWORKLOG.COM

BESTWORKLOG.COM is designed to help protect the confidentiality and integrity of Work Log records while keeping the product understandable for everyday users. We use layered safeguards rather than relying on one feature.

Verified account access

New cloud accounts must verify their email address before account-based Work Log loading, saving, migration, Version History, or account backup restoration is enabled. Account access is then limited to data the signed-in account is authorized to use.

Account separation and access controls

Personal Work Logs are designed to stay associated with the appropriate account. BESTWORKLOG.COM uses server-side access controls to prevent one ordinary account from reading or changing another ordinary account's private Work Log data.

Future shared Work Logs will use explicit permissions—such as owner, editor, or viewer—rather than weakening personal-account backup protections.

Secure connections and password handling

BESTWORKLOG.COM uses encrypted web connections for supported production traffic. Account passwords are handled through the authentication system and are not intended to be stored as readable Work Log data. Password rules are enforced both in the user interface and by the authentication service.

Multi-device safeguards

Cloud records use revision-aware saving so an older open device is not intended to silently replace a newer cloud revision. When independent changes can be safely combined, the service can merge them; when the same field was changed differently, the user is asked which value to keep.

Backups, restores, and legacy files

Modern Secure Account Backups are intended for private recovery and are tied to the appropriate account. The final backup design is intended to encrypt sensitive backup contents before the file is stored by the user. A normal personal backup is not a sharing or transfer mechanism.

Early pre-cloud legacy transfer files are temporary migration tools. After a successful migration is verified in the cloud, BESTWORKLOG.COM will identify the exact legacy filename used, tell the user that the file is retired, recommend deleting all copies, and direct the user to create a new Secure Account Backup if desired.

Keep recovery files private. A backup, recovery code, verification code, or backup password should never be sent to someone claiming they need it to “verify” your account.

Readable exports are different

PDFs, print pages, spreadsheets, and other exports are intentionally readable. Once downloaded, they are controlled by the person who downloaded them. Store them securely and share them only with people you trust. Secure recovery backups and readable reports serve different purposes.

Privacy and account-data controls

Verified users can use Settings → Privacy & Account Data to create a readable copy of account information or permanently delete the account. A self-service data export is intentionally readable for review and portability, so it should be stored as carefully as a readable PDF or spreadsheet.

Account deletion is designed to remove the personal cloud Work Log and account-linked records from BESTWORKLOG.COM. Copies that a user previously downloaded, emailed, copied, or stored outside BESTWORKLOG.COM remain under that user's control and cannot be remotely erased by the website.

Security messages you should expect from us

BESTWORKLOG.COM will never ask you to send us your password, email-verification code, MFA code, recovery code, or secure-backup password by email, text message, social media, or phone.

If you receive a suspicious request, do not provide those secrets. Use only the official BESTWORKLOG.COM website and future official support channels.

Incident response

BESTWORKLOG.COM maintains and continues to develop procedures for investigating suspected security incidents, limiting access, preserving necessary records, coordinating with service providers, and providing legally required notifications when a covered breach occurs.

Data minimization

We aim to collect and retain only information reasonably needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service or satisfy legal obligations. Users should avoid placing unnecessary highly sensitive information in Work Log notes or ordinary exports.

Your role in account security

No absolute-security promise

No website, device, network, or storage system can guarantee 100% security. BESTWORKLOG.COM's goal is to use reasonable, layered safeguards, continuously review risks, and communicate clearly with users about security-sensitive actions.

Report a security concern

To report suspected account compromise, phishing, a security concern, or a privacy concern, contact bestworklog@gmail.com. BESTWORKLOG.COM will move this function to a dedicated support/security channel as those systems are established.
