Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how BESTWORKLOG.COM handles personal information when you use the website, create or manage an account, store Work Log records in the cloud, use account recovery features, or contact us. It does not apply to websites or services that we do not control.

2. Information we may collect

• Account information: email address, account identifier, email-verification status, sign-in/security events, and—if you choose to add it in a future feature—an optional verified phone number.
• Work Log content: information you choose to enter, such as profile/person names, work dates, hours, rates, earnings, payment status, notes, and related record-book information.
• Cloud and recovery information: cloud-save versions, revision timestamps, account-owned backup metadata, migration status for early pre-cloud records, and restore events.
• Technical information: information reasonably necessary to operate and secure the service, which may include IP address, browser/device information, timestamps, diagnostic information, and security logs processed by BESTWORKLOG.COM or its service providers.
• Browser storage: essential local or session storage may be used for settings, session behavior, migration markers, temporary recovery/sync state, and other functionality described in the website.

3. How information is used

We use information to provide and secure the Work Log service; create, verify, and manage accounts; save and synchronize authorized cloud records; prevent accidental overwrites; provide backup, restore, and migration functions; send account, security, product, and service communications; respond to support and security requests; detect abuse or technical problems; comply with law; and improve reliability and usability.

Promotional communications, when used, will include the choices or opt-out methods required by applicable law. Service, security, verification, password-recovery, and other transactional messages may still be necessary to operate or protect an account.

4. Service providers and disclosures

BESTWORKLOG.COM may use service providers for website hosting, authentication, database/cloud storage, transactional email, security, error handling, and related operations. They may process information only as reasonably necessary to provide those services or as otherwise permitted by law and their agreements with us.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, to investigate fraud or security incidents, or as part of a lawful business transfer subject to appropriate protections.

5. Sale, sharing, and advertising

BESTWORKLOG.COM does not sell users' Work Log content or use Work Log content for cross-context behavioral advertising. If our practices materially change in a way that creates a legal right to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling, we will update our notices and provide the controls required by applicable law before those practices apply.

6. Cookies, local storage, and online tracking

BESTWORKLOG.COM may use cookies, local storage, session storage, or similar browser technologies that are necessary for sign-in, security, preferences, migration, sync, and other service functions. We do not authorize third parties to use Work Log content for cross-site behavioral advertising.

Do Not Track and preference signals: legacy browser “Do Not Track” signals do not change essential service operations. If BESTWORKLOG.COM becomes legally required to recognize a browser-based opt-out preference signal, such as a Global Privacy Control signal, for covered processing, we will implement the required response.

7. Data retention and deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain account and security functions, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Verified users are being provided self-service controls under Settings → Privacy & Account Data to download account information and permanently delete the account. The deletion flow is designed to remove the personal cloud Work Log, Version History, profile record, and account-linked legacy-migration claim records that are connected to the deleted authentication account. Certain information may still be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or legitimate recordkeeping.

Files you download to your own device—such as readable data exports, PDFs, spreadsheets, legacy files, or encrypted account backups—are under your control after download. Deleting an account does not remotely delete copies that you previously downloaded, emailed, copied to a cloud drive, saved to USB storage, or stored elsewhere.

8. Security

BESTWORKLOG.COM uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the service, including verified account access, access controls, secure network connections, account-separated cloud records, and protections intended to reduce accidental multi-device data loss. No internet service can promise absolute security.

9. Your choices and account controls

Depending on the feature and applicable law, users may be able to review or change sign-in information, change a verified email through the required confirmation process, reset or change a password, download a readable copy of account information, create encrypted Secure Account Backups, restore authorized backups, and permanently delete an account through the website. Self-service downloads are intentionally readable for review and portability and therefore should be stored securely. Secure Account Backups are a separate encrypted recovery format.

If a privacy request concerns information that is not available through the self-service controls—for example, certain provider, security, or infrastructure records—the final production support/privacy process will provide an appropriate request method when required by applicable law.

10. California privacy disclosures

California's Online Privacy Protection Act requires covered commercial websites that collect personally identifiable information from California consumers to conspicuously post a privacy policy. This policy is intended to provide the categories of information collected, how it is used or disclosed, available review/change processes, tracking disclosures, policy-change practices, and an effective date.

If BESTWORKLOG.COM is subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for a particular period, California residents may have rights that can include access/knowledge, correction, deletion, data portability, opt-out of sale or sharing, limitation of certain uses of sensitive personal information, and non-discrimination for exercising covered rights, subject to legal exceptions. BESTWORKLOG.COM will provide legally required request methods and notices when those obligations apply.

11. Arizona and other U.S. state rights

Privacy and security rights vary by state and may change over time. BESTWORKLOG.COM will honor rights that apply to the service and the requesting user, which may include access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out rights depending on state law and our processing activities.

For Arizona residents, BESTWORKLOG.COM also maintains incident-response procedures intended to support applicable Arizona data-breach notification obligations when a covered breach occurs.

12. Children

BESTWORKLOG.COM is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that such information was collected in a manner requiring deletion, we will take appropriate action.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service, legal requirements, or data practices change. We will update the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice when legally required or when a change is material.
